To the Moon, by way of the Archive

One subject, put to eight Internet Archive services through one MCP server. Every image, quote and number below came back from a live tool call, and each panel shows the call that produced it.

The runThis page came from one live run on 31 October 2026, made by hand before the site's capture script existed. The question typed for it wasn't kept, so none is shown here. Each section names the tools that made it, and every call it shows is in the receipts at the end. The other stories were captured with scripts/site/capture.py and show their questions and every call in order.

A NASA video, on the Archive since 2022: scientists open a core sample collected on the Moon by Apollo 17 in 1972. Its subtitle file, uploaded by NASA and in the public domain, reads as timed text.

"That core was collected by Gene Cernan, as I was working on the edge of a crater nearby."

"In fact, Apollo never ended for lunar scientists."

"We can actually detect the water that is in some of these ancient lunar rocks."

"Everything we're learning about the Moon relates to the very early history of the solar system."

Welcome to NASA and the Mars Pathfinder Mission!

This is a substitute for the usual NASA Home Page. In an effort to help the millions trying to get information on Mars Pathfinder, we've put this list of reflector sites on our top-level page.

SiteHits/Day
Silicon Graphics, Inc.20,000,000
Digital Equipment Corp.15,000,000
CompuServe10,000,000
SUN Microsystems, Inc.6,000,000
NASA, JPL5,000,000

The oldest capture of nasa.gov, taken at 23:58 on New Year's Eve 1996, isn't the home page. It's a stand-in, put up so the crowds coming for Mars Pathfinder could find a mirror, rated by how many hits a day each could take.

In write mode the same server can ask the Wayback Machine to save a page now, after you've seen a preview and said yes. That was tested live on 1 November.
